This piece was inspired by the song of the Hawaiian artist, IZ (Israel Kamakawiwo'ole).   In  “Hawaiian Superman,” IZ tells the story of the God Maui traveling from place to place looking for a home.  On his journey he carries the staples of life:  water and a sack of Taro.  He finally settles on the Island of Maui.  This is a classical pose transformed to represent an indigenous cultural portrayal.
